Thunderstorms Are Approaching KC This Morning

Good morning bloggers,

A storm system is tracking across the northern plains this morning, and a cold front is being dragged across the plains. It is really a wind shift line with winds from the south ahead of it and west behind it.  This is sometimes called a Pacific cold front.  Thunderstorms have formed on the leading edge of this change as you can see below:

The weather for tailgating and the Chiefs game is looking pretty nice.  There is another disturbance that may produce a band of light rain showers before tailgating early on Sunday. It then will become quite nice out at Arrowhead.

Let’s track these thunderstorms as they move into KC later this morning.  Have a great day!

Gary

A freeze and snow at this point for here is still early, but does anyone remember last year? I remember this, I also remember last Halloween or the one before where we were Trick Or Treating with snow flurries/showers.

GFS has us getting our first freeze towards the end of next week. It has been very consistent run to run, and even though sometimes the GFS can be way off, consistency can be a good sign of a trend upcoming.

I’m thinking some awesome fall colors are in store for us again, like last year

Can’t lie, the GFS has me excited looking ahead. I know it has to verify but the 11th and the 20th could provide some excitement in future cycles. The pattern around the 20th could provide a massive artic outbreak in future cycles.

Exactly. Though the models don’t “recognize” the new LRC, we cannot discount the models. I believe the people who developed the weather models know what they are doing. With that being said, the potential for our first freeze next week should have us excited…

Our first chance of some snowflakes is showing up for the end of the wk up here. Not quite ready for that as fall really hasnt made an appearance. Sure we have had a few nice fall days but just last wk we were in the 80s. No happy medium i guess. Oh well what can ya do?

After the winter you had last year I think you guys deserve a little bit of a milder winter. Just saying!

Has to be less than the 80+ inches we received last yr. With that said i wouldn’t b suprised if we have another bad winter. That goes for kc as well. I wouldnt b suprised if we both had back to back bad winters
