Good Saturday bloggers,
The last round of precipitation from this three day storm is falling in the form of snow. It moved in to KC between 7 AM and 8 AM.
There was a main disturbance north of Salina, KS early Saturday morning, moving east fairly quickly. It will take until around 1 PM for the system to move by.
Temperatures will stay above freezing this morning, so the roads will be wet. In the heavier bands the grassy surfaces may get dusted.
SATURDAY NOON: The snow, possibly mixed with rain, will be ending from west to east with temperatures in the mid 30s. Notice, the sun is out in southeast Nebraska.
SATURDAY NOON TO 5 PM: The sun will come out with highs 40°-45°. The first pitch of the Royals is at 1:15 PM. They should play this afternoon. Sporting KC starts at 2 PM. It will be windy for both games with increasing sunshine. Temperatures will warm to the low and mid 40s. So, a coat is handy if you head out to those games. This evening will be clear with less wind as temperatures drop to the 30s.
SUNDAY MORNING: A hard freeze is likely with lows in the mid 20s. A few locations may drop to 20°-25°. The wind will be north-northwest at 5-15 mph making wind chill values in the low teens.
SUNDAY AFTERNOON: It will be a much nicer day with sunshine, a light wind, and highs 45°-50°.
Our next storm arrives Thursday with rain and a few thunderstorms. We will have more on this in Sunday’s blog.
Have a great weekend.
