A Quick Moving Band Of A Mixture Early This Morning

Good morning bloggers,

Screen Shot 2019-02-10 at 5.10.33 AM

The anticipated disturbance ended up farther north and west than what we were hoping for and predicting.  As a result the heavier echoes did not even form until around 4:30 AM, and this will be a 30 minute band of a mixture of precipitation in KC, then some drizzle.  Let us know what you experience.  The X shows the main disturbance, and all KC will get from this is this thin and developing band as it moves by.

Jeff will write an updated blog later this morning.

Gary

0.2” of snow here in Stewarsville, MO. Snow was coming down quite heavy for a brief period of time.

Just a few flurries in La Cygne. Glad we didn’t get anymore precip as gutters are full of ice and need to melt before the forecasted rain.

Also looking at SST’s in the North Atlantic, unless one of those or a cold pocket moves just right, the NAO is not going negative, maybe March.
I’m also curious as to how long the current El Niño will last.
