Not sold on 50s. It’s already almost 90 today was only supposed to be 83.

Dew point just tanked to 48 at KCI. 50’s are quite possible.

    Question
With everything baking out, and no storms around this upcoming week, how can heat indices/dew points get high.
I remember how hot 2012 was but dew points even got lower than AZ a few times, so it did not seem as miserable.

Heard a lady from FL visiting KC this week saying it was more miserable here than in FL

I’ve heard multiple people getting back from summer vacation in florida say it’s more miserable here than down there. Not sure why

The family and I spent a week down in Florida and what they are saying is correct. While it was hot down there, it wasn’t anywhere near as uncomfortable down there as it is up here.

If you’re near the coast, there’s usually a nice sea breeze in the afternoon.

The thing about Florida heat (having lived there myself for 12 years) it lasts for at least 6 months. It may not be as intense as KC heat but there is no relief and it wears on you after a few months.

Well, at the rate we are going our heat might last 6 mos this year too.
We might totally skip Autumn like we did Spring

Wow – GFS 00z showing 5 days in a row of 101-108F temps here starting the 19th.

GFS is never right about temps that far out. I walked through one of my corn fields yesterday and many leaves are wilting, some are brown and dying already. Not a good look for corn trying to grow cobs, screwed unless we get a rain in the next 10 days.

Wish forecasters would just get it over with and go for 100 !
But for today it’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood !
Enjoy it bloggers, I will !

Awesome weather yesterday. Looking forward to another awesome day today. Thank goodness we are not getting the heat treatment and wild fires like they are out west. Just brutal temps yesterday in SoCal. Colorado and several western states have severe fires raging. So while we may be short on rain, we don’t have it as bad as others.

Humedude, do you have insurance on your crops? Also with trade wars heating up will loss of crops damper loss of exports and thus help prices? Just asking because I’m not sure how all of this works in terms of contract pricing with Co-ops.
