Good morning Weather2020 bloggers,

The fascinating weather pattern that we are about to experience in the 2014-2015 LRC year (October-September) continues to evolve. There suddenly is no sign of any cold air.

This map, above, shows one possible solution for later next week.  The models have been all over the place, so I have very little confidence. Once we identify the LRC, which will happen in the next few weeks, we will “know” whether this computer model solution is right or wrong.  The map below shows the surface forecast as this storm is forecast to develop:

The models have been forecasting tropical activity increasing over the Gulf of Mexico from now into the next ten days. It has been a somewhat quiet hurricane season. There is a disturbance now near the Yucatan Peninsula, so we will be monitoring this as well.

Storm Chasers Leslie and Dean Burton were up mushroom hunting in the past week and took this incredible picture of the fall foliage near Eagleville, MO.  The colors around Kansas City are also becoming rather incredible and this fall foliage season should last for weeks with no freeze in sight.

Have a great day!

What do you think the chances are that it’ll clear out in time for the solar eclipse Thursday afternoon? It starts at about 2:30 and ends around sunset.
