Good Saturday morning Weather2020 bloggers,
A slow moving upper level disturbance is approaching eastern Kansas this morning. Rain with a few embedded thunderstorms has been moving north and northeast. Here is an unusual site at 5:30 AM:
Rain was spreading in early this morning, and it is drifting north at around 10mph. The disturbance has shown up as a circulating area of rain southwest of Emporia, and this is helping grow the area of precipitation as it moves into our area.
The rain will likely continue for many hours with some heavier downpours in some spots. Is this finally breaking the ice? The latest overnight GFS model has a lot of rain again over the next two weeks. More on this later today. Stormy & Breezy were watching the sky closely the past few days. And, rain is finally moving in as the sun is rising this morning.
Have a great Saturday!
